4 April 2010 - PLMC

The wind started blowing and then we felt rain
The sunrise service went upstairs to start again
"Hope" was the sermon given by Pastor Christopher
An appropriate title for Easter, that's for sure
We read Mark 16 verses one to eight
For the main point we did not have to wait

Pastor first asked us to close our eyes while he read
To feel the darkness of the first three verses, Pastor said
The disciples missed the warmth of their master
His death was viewed as a big disaster
Moving the stone was beyond their strength
Their list of fears was of great length

And "then they looked up" in verse four
The stone had been rolled away like a door
The dawn's light penetrated the dark
Like God's hope, Pastor did remark
His hope is there for us all of the time
It is based on the Word of God, not just a rhyme
Hebrews chapter eleven verse one says it best
Faith is being sure and certain of our prayer request

Pastor added three other points, as a blessing not a warning
First, God's mercies are new each and every morning
Second, Jehovah Jireh will find a way to provide
When in the morning open our eyes are pried
Third, our hope is centered on a person living
For His glory we should give thanksgiving

To his Father Jesus may have returned
But He is with us as well, we learned
"When two or three are gathered in His name"
He will never leave or forsake us, the Bible did proclaim

We should allow hope to arise in our heart
Don't give up on praying for a start
We will see our deliverance soon, and thirdly thus
For He is here and makes all things possible for us
