27 December 2009 - ENCS

Pastor Kenneth finished the series on Christ's various names
"Prince of Peace" is the final one Isaiah 9:6 claims
Pastor pointed out that 2009 was very bad
Lots of unrest and turmoil making the world sad
So how can we have peace
If the turbulence doesn't cease?

There are three things that being Prince of Peace doth mean
There is rulership, per Romans 14 verse seventeen
Then there is the peace message
Which about Jesus the OT did presage
Lastly, He is the peacegiver from heaven
As per John 14 verse twenty seven

About this topic, Colossians 3:15 imparts
“Let the peace of Christ rule in our hearts”
No matter how peaceful our faces may look
God can read our hearts like a book
With the peace that passeth all understanding
We should enter 2010, no matter how demanding

About godly peace, Pastor mentioned aspects five
Three about God and two for which we should strive

The first is that God provides and protects
For us and all of his earthly subjects
Remember Matthew 6, the twenty sixth verse
God cares for the birds; we are not worse
And Psalm 91: 14 says He will “satisfy us”
In that we can surely trust

Second, He executes righteous judgment and vindication
Romans 12: 19 provides an explanation
Psalm 37:7 tells us to be patient and still
God is in control; His plan He will fulfill
For more, read Psalm 7:8-11
And the twentieth verse of Jeremiah eleven

About the aspect third
From Pastor we then heard
God accepts us, so we should be content
About our looks, we should not resent
His love for us is really unconditional
Don’t try to be beautiful in a way traditional

The fourth aspect is to in God really trust
Commit our plans and ways to him we must
He will do things for our good
As Isaiah 26:3 says he would
Psalm 37:5 and Proverbs 16:3
Tell it like it ought to be

The last aspect is to exalt the Lord
Psalms 34: 1-3 should not be ignored
Psalms 28: 7 and 118: 29
Are also two favorites of mine
As our thanks to Him doth increase
We are overcome by a sense of peace

We then heard about the Miracle on Christmas Eve
In 1914, when World War I took its leave
The same can happen in the world today
If we allow God to have His way
Now is the moment to accept the invitation
And overcome our fear and frustration
