21 June 2009 - PLMC

On the day that fathers should stand tall
We should remember the greatest Father of all
As on the people the camera panned
Pastor Koh talked of the man with shrivelled hand
The first six verses of Mark three
Was the text that we did see
His Son did set free
Everyone, including you and me
Other things the shrivelled hand could represent
Our bodies, souls, and minds Jesus meant
He wanted us to be “free to enjoy life”
But the Pharisees were focused on causing strife
They had a critical eye and bad heart
That was hard and conniving from the start
We are often in the same boat
So make sure we take note
It is oft easier to be with those why cry
Than to smile with those who fly
Our competitive nature
Brings jealousy, for sure
Mental resistance come from hard hearts
That leads to trouble in parts
We are oft unable to see the good
In others as we really should
John Wesley equated gossip with murder
As others’ integrity we do slur
If a hard thought can soon lead to a bad deed
What do we do and what do we need?
Ourselves we must humble
On our weaknesses we do stumble
We must bring compassion back
The Word of God in us will not lack
As per Philippians four verse eight
Focus on pure things before it’s too late
When in church the congregation sings
Are we ready to receive his blessings?
Man or woman, girl or boy
Jesus wants us to have joy
No matter what, our heart God can see
He then does minister accordingly
