I attended the early service at UCC in Keene
We read from John 21, verses one to nineteen
Pastor Ann said that Easter lasts 50 days (longer than Lent)
As she then talked of the consequences of even a single event
We don't know what would happen if we took another route
Except that God is with us, have no doubt
He calls us through different routes and decisions
Even when our plans have lots of revisions
Some random events attract our attention
Is there a pattern to God's intervention?
Sometimes we need to take a step back
In order to get back on a forward track
Thinking about the story taken from John
For Peter, was his knack of fishing gone?
A man said to throw the net to the right, a simple suggestion
And soon they knew it was Jesus, without a question
They brought to shore one hundred forty three fish
A fire was waiting, along with bread in a dish
The disciples had both baptism and communion that day
To Peter, "feed my sheep" Jesus did thrice say
This led to the next phase in Peter's life
In which he excelled, despite the strife
So we need to react and be prepared to do so
That is how our faith can develop and grow
Even if not confident, it is God we must follow
In that way, our lives will not be hollow
We should know that Jesus will always be there
So when life's plans change, we should not despair
Follow His voice wherever it may lead
He will always help us to succeed
Remember that the decisions we make today
Lead to tomorrow's reality, that's the way
"The desire to please God pleases God" is a very apt line
Remember that "recalculating" our plans can work out just fine
Afterwards, as we had communion with grape juice
We asked God to put our lives to good use
