Before the offering we read from Proverbs eleven
Verse one says not to shortchange God in heaven
God wants integrity and the use of honest weight
As such action helps to determine our fate
And then as we approached the eleventh hour
Brian started a new series, "Miraculous Power"
He could not mention where he doth stay
But "salvation" was the word of the day
Isaiah 59 verse 1 was the passage he gave
The arms of the Lord are not too short to save
Because He chose us, not that we chose Him
His mission to save us is not just a whim
Isaiah 1:18 talks of reasoning together
Purifying even those with skins made of old leather
Remember that although pure may look a snowflake
Without dust in the middle it’s only a fake
In the same way, we all have sin in our heart
God can cleanse us and give us a fresh start
John Newton was a horrible, racist disgrace
But he later wrote hymns like "Amazing Grace"
"What are we really like?" was the first question to answer
Many references in the Bible say we are all sinners for sure
Per Romans 3:22 and Isaiah 53:6
We are utterly sinful and in quite a fix
And Isaiah 64:6 says we are all unclean
Even our good deeds cannot detox our souls unseen
Per Luke 19:10, Mark 2:17, and Matthew 9:2
To forgive us is what Jesus came to earth to do
“What is God really like?” was next on the list
He is perfectly holy is the Scripture’s main gist
From Psalm 96:9 and Isaiah 6:3
God is full of glory, that is plain to see
Brian then came to the last question
With three answers to “What is salvation?”
The first was The Power of Love
Righteousness came from heaven above
Per Romans 4:3 and 10:3-4
John 3:16 talks of life evermore
The Power of Truth came before number three
John 8:32 says the truth will set us free
The sixth verse of John 14 and twelfth verse of Acts 4
Tell us about Jesus being the Truth, and a whole lot more
On The Power to Change Brian did then opine
Reading from Luke 19, verses 8 and 9
Zacchaeus was a changed man Jesus could see
So told him to climb down from the sycamore tree
Only with God’s help can we change so much
It is impossible without His loving touch
Repenting is mentioned in 2 Corinthians 5:17
Turning old into new comes from Acts 3:19
Mark 8:36 talks of gaining the world at the cost of a soul
Isaiah 55:6-7 say God’s mercy should be our goal
So we must ensure that our souls are ready
Not too hard or shallow, our minds must be steady
