On Communion Sunday we did hear
Pastor Koh talking about fear
False Evidence Appearing Real is an acronym
Which reminds us that fear does not come from Him
When faith starts, fear comes to an end
And fear’s bondage can mend
Read Mark four, verses thirty five to forty one
Jesus slept through the storm, which was no fun
For Jesus is greater than any storm
That on this earth may form
If we can only rely on Him
With awe we will be filled to the brim
Three basic truths Pastor did tell us
Questions and answers, without a fuss
He proceeded to show
The things we should know
Who creates the storm is number one
In hindsight, we can oft see what God has done
His purpose we may not know
And his plan He may not show
But He controls everything
So we can say or even sing
“Look internally, get depressed
Look to God, get peaceful rest”
How He controls the storm is number two
He uses His word; we should too
His Word never fails
It overcomes all ails
For the storm’s severity and length
Are controlled by God’s strength
We should also look to His Work and His Will
As they also help the storm to be still
Knowing God’s plan is number three
Until we do, the storm will be
Each storm has a purpose in our lives
And will remain until the purpose arrives
We should not be so hard of hearing
As listening is easier than fearing
Involved in our lives God wants to be
Our testimonies become powerful, you will see
So by believing “Peace, Be Still”
Problems disappear over the hill
A storm can teach us dependence on Him
As was the case with the closing hymn
“It is well with my soul”
Don’t let storms take a toll
