Before the offering we read Genesis 24 : 17 – 20
About Rebecca and the water, for the camels she brought plenty
Like her we must go (and give) the extra mile
Corporately and individually, all the while
Pastor Charles then spoke of Jesus our “One Leader”
John 12 : 20 – 24 came up on the reader
It talked of the potential of one little seed
Like us, some soil is what is in need
A seed can burst forth with life anew
Jesus died and was resurrected for us too
He chose and commissioned twelve in Luke 6 : 13
They changed the world per verse six of Acts seventeen
God wants to use us as leaders as well
When and where only time will tell
Leadership is in everyone, including you and me
Look at what is said in Isaiah 49 :1 – 3
God has formed us per the word “Yatsar”
We are work in progress; His plans we should not mar
Look at Jeremiah 1 verse three
And Isaiah 44 : 21 also see
Pastor Charles then talked of crafting an arrow
Five steps required to make one straight and narrow
If not straight, a shot at the target will not be near
The parallels with God’s crafting of us are very clear
Francis Xavier said “come and change the world”
No matter what abuse may have been hurled
To break down John Sculley’s defence
Steve Jobs said “come and make a difference”
Jim Eliot was not long out of school
When he penned “he is no fool...”
He was killed but became an inspiration
Missionaries have been sent to many a nation
Remember that God finishes that which He began
That’s true for the world and also true for man
Look at Philippians 1 : 6 and Hebrews 12 : 2
And First Thessalonians 5 : 24 too
This was the second in the series “The Power of One”
God’s work with us is never ever done
