14 February 2010 - PLMC

On the first day of the Lunar New Year
From Pastor Lynette the sermon we did hear
The second in a series on the Lord's Prayer
Which is a template from God, we should be aware

The text was of course Matthew 6 : 10-13
And what "The Kingdom of God" doth mean
From Matthew 4 :17 we also read
The Kingdom of heaven is near, indeed
But the Kingdom is not just about what will occur
But the present, as Romans 14 : 17 does refer
1 Corinthians 4, verse twenty
Talks of the Kingdom having power aplenty

Remember that with prayer we should submit
To God's will we should commit
Self-centred should and need not be our prayer
Per Matthew 6 :32-33, God is aware
Think of His will for our lives every day
Don't try to change his plans, do it His way
But per 1 John 5, verse fourteen
We can approach our God unseen
With confidence for anything we can ask
If consistent with His will, we won't be taken to task
And per Romans 8 verse twenty eight
God will deliver for those who love Him and wait

There are four areas to establish God's will as a foundation
In ourselves, our families, our church, and our nation

James 5:16 talks of powerful, effective prayer
When a righteous man does prepare
Pastor said that when hitchhiker Jesus we do meet
We should let Him take our driver's seat

We should pray for our family, each and every member
Even if they don't deserve it, we should remember
And ask for God to reveal His almighty plan
For our children who grow up to be woman and man

And for the church, pray that like shepherds will be our pastors
With kind hearts, helping us to avoid unnatural disasters
And pray that faithful be the congregation
As together re resist sectoral temptation

Of this world and of heaven, we are citizens in them both
Per Philippians 3:20, our focus should be on the heavenly oath
God's kingdom will surely over time prevail
Even from non-believers good things can hail

I will also add "Xin Nian Mong Ern"
and "Ye Su Ai Ni", which are phrases to learn
About God's grace (which is true)
And of course..."Jesus loves you"
