25 December 2009 - PLMC

At PLMC early on Christmas Day
We listened to what Rev Tay had to say
It is the season of many a gift
To and from others, serving to uplift
As the status of the giver impacts a gift's value
When it is from God, our praises should spew

Then Pastor told us the whole story
From Creation to Christ, connected a priori
God the Creator said "let there be lgiht"
After six days, all was just right
Angles were intended to worship and serve Him
Due to his ego, Lucifer's future became dim
But then Lucifer led Adam and Eve to sin
God evicted them from the garden they were in

Sin always leads to a separation from God
Which impacts our spirit and our bod
But God did not His people forsake
The ten Commandments Moses did take
They told the Jews how to behave
Impossible to follow, but God still forgave
They had to repent and offer a sacrifice
The shedding of a lamb's blood was often the price
But the repentance became a ritual, not real
God still loved man despite the anger he did feel

He then sent Jesus, with us to reconcile
As God cared for us all the while
He tried to save us from eternal damnation
And offer us His beloved salvation

Jesus the Son of God was a teacher
More powerful than any demon, illness, or creature
On whom lots of hopes were pinned
He overcame death and never sinned
By the day's leaders He was despised
Although of His arrival they had been apprised
He did not deserve to die
But He did not complain or sigh

He is the ultimate gift for us all
For our sin, He took the fall
Remember the story of the prodigal son
God welcomes us back, each and every one
Our relationship with Him, He will restore
But Jesus we must not ignore
Our hearts must believe and our mouths confess
Our love for Jesus the Lord we must profess
So we should not wait
Or even hesitate

Have a blessed Christmas Day
Whether you are at home or far away
