"Now you are the body of Christ"
Into which all have been spliced
Per verse 28, "and God has placed in the church"
Apostles, prophets, and teachers who do research
Paul says that others do miracles or have the gift of healing
Helping, guiding, speaking in tongues are also appealing
Not all can be apostles or prophets, Paul makes clear
Similarly for the other gifts that seem so dear
"Now eagerly desire the greater gifts" Paul did say
"And now I will show you the most excellent way"
This leads into 1 Corinthians chapter thirteen
Where Paul's view on love is clearly seen
Following on from yesterday's poem on gifts
Paul now shares how each one uplifts
The core message is still the same
We are given different gifts, per God's aim
Nobody has them all, that's for sure
But to think we have none is immature
The key is how we use our unique talents
Both proactively and when reacting to events
So dear God, help me be more aware
Of the gifts that you want me to share
