20 December 2010 - Proverbs 28:18-22

"The one whose walk is blameless is kept safe" says verse eighteen
"But the one whose ways are perverse will fall into the pit" that is unseen
"Those who work their land will have abundant food" to see
"But those who chase fantasies will have their fill of poverty"
"A faithful person will be richly blessed"
"But one eager to get rich" will have no rest
"To show partiality is not good" says verse twenty one
"Yet a person will do wrong for a piece of bread" or a bun
The next verse says that "the stingy are eager to get rich"
"And are unaware that poverty awaits them" in a ditch

This passage starts with how we should walk
In keeping with the words that Jesus did talk
It goes on to encourage us to work hard
Not to be dreamers but to remain on guard
But the most important message relates to greed
Being stingy will paradoxically leave a person in need
