22 November 2010 - Psalm 46:1-7

"God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble"
"Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way" into rubble
"And the mountains fall into the heart of the sea"
"Though its waters roar and foam" for all to see
"There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God"
"The holy place where the Most High dwells" with an angelic squad
"God is within her, she will not fall" verse five does say
Continuing with "God will help her at break of day"
"Nations are in uproar, kingdoms fall"
"He lifts his voice", melting the earthly sprawl
"The LORD Almighty is with us" in times of distress
For per verse seven, "the God of Jacob is our fortress"

This psalm was mentioned in yesterday's worship
But it deserves more than a little quip
For it reminds us of God's amazing strength
Even when the enemy attacks us at length
God is with us through day and night
Making sure that everything will be alright
But this can only happen if we ask
And in His glory we then do bask
The last line is what I need to profess
Again, "the God of Jacob is our fortress"
