23 July 2010 - Proverbs 13: 1-11

To his father's instructions a wise son heeds
"But a mocker does not listen to rebuke" that he needs
"He who guards his lips guards his life" says verse three
"But he who speaks rashly will come to ruin", you will see
"The righteous hate what is false", that is the case
"But the wicked bring shame and disgrace"
"One man pretends to be rich" yet nothing has he
"Another pretends to be poor" yet great wealth he will see
"The light of the righteous shines brightly"
"But the lamp of the wicked is snuffed out" - rightly
"Dishonest money dwindles away", it is good to know
"But he who gathers money little by little makes it grow"

There is much repetition in Proverbs verse
To ignore its words is therefore even worse
Here we read about listening more than talking
And the kind of life wicked men are walking
Also, in this age of 'greed is good' and 'I want it now'
About making money biblically, verse eleven tells us how
May I have the wisdom and willpower
To follow all these guidelines every hour
