21 July 2010 - Proverbs 3:5-12

"Trust in the Lord with all your hearts"
"And lean not on your own" perceived smarts
"In all your ways acknowledge" He who is great
"And he will make your paths straight"
"Do not be wise in your own eyes"
"Fear the Lord and shun evil" lies
"Honor the Lord with your wealth"
And your crops that are in the best health
"Then your barns will be filled to overflowing"
And from your vats new wine will be showing
"Do not despise the Lord's discipline"
"And do not resent his rebuke" when you sin
"Because the Lord disciplines those loves" as kin
"As a father punishes the son he delights in"

I love reading from Proverbs
Straight forward are the verbs
Do and do not
Who, why, and what
No exception is Proverbs three
Several lessons I can see
Trust and fear the Lord
Wealth do not hoard
God will bless us in return
And rebuke us so we learn
