9 August 2010 - Romans 12:14-16

"Bless those who persecute you"
"Do not curse" them even if you want to
"Rejoice with those who rejoice"
"Mourn with those" of sad voice
"Live in harmony with one another"
"Do not be proud" in dealing with each other
"Be willing to associate with people of low position"
"Do not be conceited"; instead, show submission

This passage says that to be a good Christian brother
It is important to empathise with each other
This leads into having a humble attitude
And then showing heartfelt gratitude
But the toughest instruction, at least for me
Is to love and pray for those with whom I disagree
I try to remember that these are not just Paul's words
For Jesus said "love our enemies" if we want eternal rewards
