26 August 2010 : James 5:7-11

"Be patient, then brothers, until the Lord's coming"
This message into our heads the Bible keeps drumming
"See how the farmer waits for the land to yield its valuable crop"
"And how patient he is for the autumn and spring rains" to drop
"You too, be patient and stand firm" per verse eight
"Because the Lord's coming is near" James did state
"Don't grumble against each other"
"Or you will be judged" a bad brother
"As an example of patience in the face of suffering"
"Take the prophets who...in the name of the Lord" spoke and did sing
"We consider blessed those who have persevered"
To God they have themselves endeared
"You have heard of Job's perseverance"
Despite many a difficult circumstance
You "have seen what the Lord finally brought about"
He "is full of compassion and mercy" without a doubt

Patience and perseverance are important traits
Throughout the Bible this message does resonate
Job was a prime example of this
Even though his life was far from bliss
The prophets and disciples were persecuted
But they did not allow their message to be muted
So putting things into perspective
It is easier in this time in which we live
So I should always remember
From January through December
To be patient and to persevere
And to always keep Jesus near
