"We know that we were passed from death to life"
"Because we love our brothers" in good times and strife
And then John said, in his next breath
"Anyone who does not love remains in death"
And as "Jesus laid down his life" for others
"We ought to lay down our lives for our brothers"
"Let us not love with words or tongue"
"But with actions" when brothers we are among
When this passage I do read
I am very thankful indeed
For many Christian brothers I do have
For my pains, they act as a salve
They always offer prayers and a kind word
Which further proves they are sent by our Lord
