"You are the light of the world" says verse fourteen
"A city on a hill cannot be hidden"; it will be seen
"Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl"
"Instead they put it on its stand", for giving light is its role
"In the same way, let your light shine"

For by letting others see your light
And doing deeds that are good and right
All may "praise your Father in heaven"
Over and over, seventy times seven
The previous verse talks of being the salt of the earth
Saltiness and light can define our worth
So please God, when people look at me
A different person, let them see
In this world, let me be a good light
As temptations and challenges I do fight
