"Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power"
"Against the devil's schemes" do not cower
"For our struggle is not against flesh and blood"
But against evil forces which led to the great flood
Therefore let "the full armor of God" you surround
So that you "may be able to stand your ground"
"Stand...with the belt of truth...around your waist"
"With the breastplate of righteousness" well placed
"And with your feet fitted with the readiness"
"That comes from the gospel" of peacefulness
"In addition,...take up the shield of faith", per verse sixteen
To extinguish the evil one's "flaming arrows" that are unseen
Also "take the helmet of salvation"
For the battle's full duration
As well as the Spirit's sword
Which is of course God's word
"And pray in the Spirit on all occasions"
"With all kinds of prayers" and dedications
Lastly, "with this in mind, be alert"
And pray that the saints will not be hurt
Yes, the armor of God we should wear
Then the enemy's attacks we can bear
Dear God, how to use your armor please teach me
So that from the enemy's arrows I will be free
And may my prayers always be heard
As I read and focus on your Word
