4 October 2010 - 1 Corinthians 3:7-9

"So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything"
As the one who makes things grow is God the king
For the man who plants or waters - and his neighbour
"Each will be rewarded according to his own labor"
"For we are God's fellow workers" revealed
Verse nine concludes "You are God's field"

We heard this as an offertory text yesterday
A paradoxical message it does convey
In the first line, we might construe
That none of us have any value
By ourselves, this is fact true
But with God, there is nothing we cannot do
For later on the full picture is shown
God calls each of us his family, his own
I thank God for that comforting verse
And ask that in His love I can immerse
