28 October 2010 - 1 Corinthians 10:11-13

"These things happened to them" act as an example
"And were written down as warnings" more than ample
"So, if you think you are standing firm" and tall
Verse twelve says to "be careful that you don't fall!"
"No temptation has seized you"
"Except what" others go through
"And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted"
"Beyond what you can bear", Paul pre-empted
"But when you are tempted" and in doubt
"He will also provide a way out"

Temptation is the enemy's primary tool
With it, every man and woman he tries to fool
He tempted Jesus, God's only son
In the wilderness under the hot sun
So being tempted is a daily norm
The key is our response, how we perform
Verse thirteen says that God knows what we can bear
And of course reading his word helps us to prepare
He has made promises, a very long list
Keep them in mind as the tempter we resist
