“There is no God” the fool says in his heart
But “they are corrupt”; no good do their actions impart
“God looks down from heaven on the sons of men”
To see if any understand or seek him again
But “everyone has turned away” and become corrupt
“There is no one who does good”, David did erupt
“Will the evildoers never learn?”
David asked with much concern
“There they are, overwhelmed with dread”
Because the situation was so misread
“God scattered the bones of those who attacked you”
“You put them to shame”; “God despised them” too
“Oh, that salvation for Israel would come out of Zion”
“Let Jacob rejoice” and roar like a lion
David wrote this to highlight the folly of evil men
And to remind us of God’s ultimate power, amen
Dear God, I thank you for this psalm
As my fears it helps to becalm
And please know that I want to be
One who your glory can eventually see
So please help me to always learn
And for your love always yearn
